Job Description Summary :
The Site Construction Manager – Electrical oversees maintenance and capital improvement projects, ensuring they meet safety, quality, cost, and compliance standards for stakeholders. This role involves managing the construction phase by organizing, directing, and controlling activities across multiple production units at the Mobile Site. Additionally, the manager coordinates various technical disciplines and manages external contractors for project implementation.
Responsibilities
- Project Scope & Management: Define project scope, resources, and timeline for projects ≤ $60,000 and > $60,000. Prepare job packages, solicit and evaluate bids, assess contractor suitability, and award contracts. For projects over $60,000, collaborate with project managers.
- Support & Issue Identification: Assist plant engineer/PM by identifying potential issues (material availability, delays, permitting) that may impact design or execution.
- Project Administration (SAP): Manage project costs, purchase orders, inventory, change orders, and contractor invoices through SAP.
- Site & Safety Management: Ensure job site organization and proper resource availability. Lead safety initiatives, including contractor safety programs, safety orientations, and audits, ensuring compliance with safety policies.
- Liaison & Conflict Resolution: Act as liaison between project teams, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies; resolve conflicts and escalate unresolved issues.
- Field Inspections & Certification: Conduct technical inspections to ensure construction adheres to standards, and certify project completion for customer handoff.
- Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and maintain medium and low-voltage electrical systems, including starters, breakers, transformers, relays, and generators.
- System Knowledge & LOTO: Use software for system programming and monitoring (e.g., SEL QuickSet, Survalent, SmartVu, SCADA). Perform LOTO and issue permits for electrical system work.
Requirements
- 5-7 years as a Foreman, Superintendent, or Inspector on large-scale construction projects.
- Experience with refineries, chemical plants, or power plants is a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of industrial/commercial construction, electrical systems, and DCS in industrial settings.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings (e.g., single-line, motor elementary, and switchgear diagrams).
- Journeyman certification in trades like Electrician or DCS (preferred).
- Familiar with OSHA regulations (fall protection, confined space, hot work).
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP (preferred).
- Strong communication and project management skills.
