Looking for an experienced Onshore Workday Test Lead [ Chicago]. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Workday testing, including functional testing, data migration and configuration This role requires excellent leadership skills to manage testing teams and ensure the successful implementation of Workday solutions. We're looking for an experienced Workday Test Lead to join an established project team supporting a large enterprise Workday implementation. This is a hands-on testing leadership role requiring both deep functional knowledge of Workday and the ability to execute and drive quality assurance efforts across multiple modules. Candidates must have strong client-facing skills, a polished and professional communication style, and a proactive approach to driving workstreams forward. Experience in the airline industry is highly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage Workday testing efforts for implementation and migration projects, with activities related to different workday modules (e.g., Core HCM, Payroll, Absence, Recruiting, Compensation, etc.)
* Functional Automation testing using Selenium
* API testing using RestAssured, ReadyAPI
* Develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scripts for Workday modules.
* Coordinate with project managers, developers, and business analysts to ensure testing aligns with project requirements.
* Execute and oversee functional, integration, and regression testing.
* Identify, document, and track defects and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
* Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in testing.
* Mentor and guide junior testers, providing training and support as needed.
SKILLS
Must have
* Extensive experience in end-to-end Workday testing, including functional testing as well as data migration and validation testing.
* Good understanding of Workday modules and functionalities.
* Proven leadership skills with experience managing testing teams.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Airline or transportation industry experience is a strong plus
Nice to have
* Workday-specific certifications ( Workday Pro/ Workday HCM). • Experience with HR systems implementation and migration projects. • Familiarity with automated testing tools and techniques.
