About the Role

As a Senior WordPress Developer, you will play a key role in shaping our digital footprint by building and maintaining fast, secure, and scalable WordPress websites that reflect our brand and deliver an exceptional user experience. This is not a plug-and-play WordPress job — we're looking for someone who can write clean code, architect solutions, and push the boundaries of what’s possible with WordPress in an enterprise context.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of ACI’s primary website and microsites using WordPress
• Develop custom themes, plugins, and modules based on specific business requirements
• Translate UI/UX design wireframes into responsive, high-performance pages
• Implement SEO best practices, analytics tracking, and schema markup
• Ensure security, scalability, performance optimization, and mobile responsiveness
• Collaborate with design, marketing, and DevOps teams to deliver integrated digital experiences
• Troubleshoot, debug, and proactively resolve issues before they become bottlenecks
• Stay updated on WordPress, PHP, and frontend trends to continuously improve website quality and tech stack
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in WordPress development
• Deep understanding of core WordPress architecture, custom theme and plugin development
• Strong expertise in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (including ES6+), and jQuery
• Experience with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg (custom block development a plus)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, AJAX, and third-party integrations (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo)
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems
• Familiarity with performance tools like Lighthouse, GTmetrix, Cloudflare, and caching/CDN strategies
• Working knowledge of MySQL, WP CLI, and server environments (Apache/Nginx)
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on high-traffic, enterprise-grade websites
• Experience integrating headless CMS or decoupled WordPress with front-end frameworks
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and Jira or equivalent PM tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
