Job Description
- Operate and perform maintenance activities on production cloud database services running within the SaaS region.
- Responsible for defining and deploying DbaaS and autonomous database services with deep focus on architecture, production operations, capacity planning, performance management, deployment, and SaaS release engineering.
- Act as a point of escalation for incidents and other issues arising within the SaaS regions, for the cloud database services
- React to production deficiencies by continuously implementing automation, self-healing, and real-time monitoring to production systems
- Ensures thorough documentation of incidents through company-standard reporting methods
- Drives and actively participates in the resolution of complex technical issues spanning various services
- Execute DR tests and performance test on cloud environments.
- Actively monitor database environment and involve in developing comprehensive Database Monitoring tools.
- Responsible to managing security and access control of production database.

Responsibilities
- 10+ years of experience in Oracle database administration, installation, configuration, upgrade and performance tuning activities preferably in a cloud environment.
- Hands on experience in database performance tuning, back & recovery, cloning, space management and database security.
- Experience in managing and configuring Oracle multi-tenant container database (CDB) and pluggable database (PDB).
- Preferred experience in Oracle autonomous database management.
- Experience in installation, configuration, troubleshoot and management of Oracle replication tools like Autonomous Data Guard, GoldenGate etc.
- Ability to strategy plan and execute disaster recovery plans.
- Experience in application performance monitoring and tuning.
- Handson experience in performance tuning (I/O, Memory, SQL) by using tools like AWR, ADDM, APM, TKPROF, Explain Plan, Statspack etc.
- Knowledge in Hot/Cold backups, recovery and cloning using RMAN backups.
- Experience in cloning database from production to test and development environments.
- Handson experience in shell scripting for database management and monitoring activities.
- Good technical knowledge of PaaS and SaaS platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), or other relevant certifications in database administration is an added advantage
