DMS Change Management provides reference data management and valuation solutions for many of the world’s leading and most innovative financial institutions, including regional and global banks and asset management firms.
Senior Software Test Engineer in the DMS Change Management Team is someone who can be a strategic asset for our organization operating in this complex and intricate sector. Their deep domain knowledge, technical expertise, effective bug-detection skills, and leadership qualities make them essential for ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of software applications that underpin the financial system.
By identifying and preventing bugs early in the development cycle, senior test engineers significantly reduce risks associated with software releases. This can translate to significant cost savings for the company by avoiding rework and potential financial losses due to errors in production.
Senior test engineers often take on leadership roles within testing teams, guiding junior members, conducting test reviews, and mentoring them on best practices. Their experience makes them valuable assets for knowledge sharing and team development.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Technical Expertise:
- In-depth understanding of Capital Markets: This includes knowledge of financial instruments, trading platforms, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Experience with various testing methodologies: Manual testing, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, Automation testing and API testing
- Proficiency in agile methodology and workflow, AzureDevOps, Salesforce know-how
- Experience with test automation using Cucumber and Gherkin
- Knowledge of Test Automation Frameworks (Hybrid and Data-driven)
- Knowledge of databases and SQL queries: Ability to write basic queries to extract test data or verify results.
Testing Activities:
- Design and execute test plans and strategies: Align testing activities with business requirements and project objectives.
- Develop comprehensive test cases: Covering various functionalities, user journeys, and edge cases.
- Carry out manual and automated test cases: Identify, report, and track defects.
- Perform performance and security testing: Ensure the system meets performance and security standards.
- Analyze test results and recommend improvements: Identify trends and suggest ways to optimize testing processes.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders: Developers, product owners, business analysts, etc.
- Collaborate with the development team to resolve defects and improve code quality.
- Participate in code reviews and provide testing feedback.
- Present testing results and findings in clear and concise reports.
- Always motivated, eager to explore new opportunities and believe in efficiency and accuracy
Additional Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on industry trends: Continuously learn and stay informed about new technologies, regulations, and testing best practices in the Capital Markets domain.
- Contribute to the testing community: Share knowledge and expertise through presentations, internal training, or participation in industry forums.
- Take ownership of specific testing areas: Develop deep knowledge in specific areas of testing within the Capital Markets domain.
YOUR QUALIFICATION
- Should have
- 5-6 years of experience as a Test Professional in Quality Assurance
- Expertise of ETL Process
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest testing developments.
- Basic Business Understanding of Financial Data Management – Reference data, Asset Managers, Corporate Actions – Expertise in any area of these or a combination
- Fluency in English
- Proficient analytical skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
- Proficient communication and presentation skills including listening skills
- A committed approach and a skilled drive for problem-solving
- Professional, committed and result-oriented
- Good to have
- ISTQB certification
- Capital Markets Domain knowledge with BUY SIDE Firms and experience.
- Experience working with Reference Data Management setup and understanding of various asset classes (Equity, Derivatives, and Fixed Income etc.) and Market data feeds (Reuters, Bloomberg, MarkIT etc.).
