Job Description
Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources (databases, flat files, APIs, etc.) into data warehouses or other data storage systems.
Develop and optimize SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand data requirements and design robust data solutions.
Implement error handling, data validation, and data cleansing logic within ETL workflows.
Write and optimize complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and transform data.
Create stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers to streamline data processing.
Optimize query performance and ensure efficient use of indexes and database resources.
Perform database tuning to ensure high performance and scalability for data-heavy applications.
Integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse or other destinations.
Implement data transformations according to business rules, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Perform data mapping and work with business analysts to ensure the data is structured appropriately for reporting and analysis.
Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and analysts to ensure that data is aligned with organizational goals and requirements.
Support and maintain existing ETL processes and improve upon them to handle increasing data volumes.
Troubleshoot issues in existing data pipelines and ensure smooth data flow without interruptions.
Document ETL processes, data models, and SQL procedures to ensure clarity and maintainability.
Provide reports and status updates to stakeholders on project progress, system performance, and data integrity.
Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi).
Hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
Solid understanding of data integration, data transformation, and data loading processes.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
Familiarity with cloud-based ETL tools and platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue) is a plus.
