Senior backend Engineer (Python)
We are seeking experienced Python developers with expertise in designing and implementing cloud-based distributed systems. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in launching successful products with scalability, concurrency, testing and monitoring in mind.
The Role
You will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and deploying Zapia's large-scale core systems. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of experienced software developers, AI engineers and program managers.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance the core systems to scale to 50M users and beyond.
* Lead architectural decisions, ensuring best practices in reliability, scalability, and security.
* Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI designers, and other engineers, to define product vision and deliver comprehensive solutions.
* Stay abreast of new technologies and programming techniques, and incorporate them where applicable to enhance our systems' efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on Python programming.
* Proven track record of designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, high-availability applications.
* Solid understanding of software design principles.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex challenges.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in Docker, FastAPI, Redis, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (or experience with other cloud services) is a strong plus, as well as contributions to open-source projects.
Experience with machine learning, AI, and big data processing frameworks is a plus but it is not required.
