We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Project Manager with a strong focus on Data Management. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in managing large-scale data-related projects, experience leading cross-functional teams, and a deep understanding of data governance, data infrastructure, and analytics. You will play a key role in ensuring successful planning, execution, and delivery of data initiatives that align with the strategic goals of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership: Lead the full lifecycle of data projects from inception to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments (Data Engineering, Data Science, IT, Business Operations) to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.
Scope and Requirements: Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in alignment with business goals. Translate business needs into technical requirements.
Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources efficiently. Lead and motivate cross-functional teams of data engineers, data analysts, and other contributors.
Risk Management: Identify, monitor, and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle. Proactively mitigate potential risks that may impact the project timeline or deliverables.
Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance. Ensure financial alignment with project plans.
Data Governance: Implement best practices around data governance, quality, and security across the project. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Communication & Reporting: Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders. Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues. Prepare and present project status reports to senior leadership.
Agile/Waterfall Management: Utilize appropriate project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to manage projects, tailoring approaches based on project type and complexity.
Vendor Management: Oversee third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
Continuous Improvement: Actively look for ways to optimize project processes, workflows, and delivery methods, incorporating lessons learned and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 10-12 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in managing data projects or data-driven initiatives.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of data management concepts (data governance, data lakes, data warehouses, ETL processes, data analytics).
Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Asana), data tools (SQL, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, or similar data platforms).
Leadership: Proven track record of leading and managing cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving: Ability to solve complex technical and business challenges.
Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Agility: Experience with Agile methodologies and adapting to changing project needs.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements around data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Experience working in industries such as finance, healthcare, technology, or any data-intensive fields is a plus.
