We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to support the relocation of a critical on-premise application platform to a new physical site. This role is hands-on and pivotal to ensuring platform continuity, operational resilience, and compliance post-migration. You will work closely with local engineering teams to re-establish infrastructure and container orchestration environments, as well as produce robust documentation for long-term supportability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the migration and reconfiguration of a business-critical application platform to a new site.
Collaborate with on-site teams to document operational procedures, dependencies, and configurations.
Validate and re-establish the full platform stack, including infrastructure, OS, networking, and Middleware.
Rebuild and verify container environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes) to ensure full functionality.
Develop automated pipelines for configuration management and application deployment.
Ensure compliance with licensing and vendor agreements during and post-migration.
Deliver detailed, high-quality handover documentation for BAU support teams.
Technical Requirements
Extensive experience in platform engineering within hybrid and cloud environments (Azure or private cloud).
Strong hands-on knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes (preferably EKS), and Infrastructure as Code.
Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (eg, Jenkins).
Scripting/programming skills in one or more of the following: Python, PowerShell, C#, Java, JavaScript (React).
Solid understanding of databases and SQL within platform contexts.
