We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Functional and Data Tester to join this impactful team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing complex applications, including functional, integration, and data validation testing. Key Responsibilities
Perform functional testing of applications, ensuring business requirements are met.
Conduct data validation testing across different databases to verify data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate backend processes, ETL pipelines, and reports.
Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
Design and execute test cases across UI, backend systems, and data processing workflows.
Identify, log, and track defects; work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
Participate in test automation efforts using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
Work within Agile/Scrum methodologies and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in functional and data testing, including ETL and data migration validation.
Strong SQL skills (joins, aggregations, etc.) for backend and data integrity testing.
Hands-on experience in API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
Proficient in test automation using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
Experience validating data outputs using BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
Familiar with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA for test planning and defect tracking.
Ability to analyse logs, debug complex issues, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and scripting in JavaScript is advantageous.
Familiarity with large-scale data tools such as Kafka, Snowflake, or BigQuery is a plus.
