Senior Electrical Engineer — Quantum Hardware

Full-time · Permanent · Garching near Munich (DE)

Your Mission

Join a world-class team pushing the limits of quantum technology. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll help design and deliver the electronic heart of next-generation quantum computers. Working side-by-side with quantum physicists, software architects, and mechanical engineers, you will turn cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs into real, working machines.

This isn’t just another hardware job — this is your chance to engineer the future.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Critical Electronics

Take responsibility for the design and delivery of essential electronic modules that power and control quantum systems.

  • From Blueprint to Reality

Integrate and optimize your modules into fully functioning quantum computers, ensuring seamless interaction across the entire hardware and software stack.

  • Evolve with Every Project

After each successful system integration, move on to new challenges and new technologies as part of an agile, fast-paced development cycle.

  • Collaborate Across Disciplines

Work closely with experts in quantum engineering, software development, and mechanical design to bring revolutionary ideas to life.

  • Stay Ahead of the Curve

Continuously sharpen your skills and stay updated on the latest advances in physics and engineering, applying new knowledge to improve system performance.

What You Bring

  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of proven hands-on experience in hardware design, development, and delivery.
  • Expertise in at least three of the following areas:
  • Analog Electronics / RF: Low-noise amplifier design, loop filters, mixers, RF amplifiers, high-precision voltage references.
  • Digital Electronics: High-speed ADC/DAC systems, low phase noise clock design, digital feedback loops (FPGA/microcontroller), mixed-signal design.
  • Power Electronics: High-current switching, H-bridges with MOSFET/SiC/IGBT, linear and switch-mode power supplies.
  • Ability to independently specify systems, drive designs from concept to completion, and engage confidently with stakeholders.
  • A strong track record of mentoring junior engineers and fostering technical growth within a team.

Why Join?

This is more than a job — it’s a chance to work at the intersection of physics, engineering, and software, helping to shape a transformative technology from the ground up. You’ll contribute directly to building fully functional neutral-atom quantum computers, where your designs won’t just sit on a circuit board — they’ll help power a revolution.

In this agile, fast-moving environment, projects evolve with your curiosity. Whether you're fascinated by ultra-stable systems, high-frequency control, precision feedback, or power delivery — there’s always something new to learn and build.
