What you will do:
Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Instrument & Controls system engineering, providing guidance and advice on related issues.
Control System Architecture Design which includes:
I. PLC configuration selection. Candidate should have knowledge of safety PLC and redundant PLC.
II. Specifications preparation for PLC control system (DCS knowledge preferable)
III. Selection of control system component including PLC and auxiliary components like panel, VFDs, power
supply, gateways etc.
IV. Selection of hardware components required for setting up the control and communication system of the electrolyzer.
V. Preparation of control philosophy based on P&ID with collaboration with process engineer.
Process and Analytical Instrument selection
Review and interpret Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Electrical Schematics as needed.
Control system (PLC) programming
Provide technical support for the daily maintenance and troubleshooting activities for the control systems to ensure plant equipment continued operation;
Ability to understand system operating principles required to effectively troubleshoot, modify, monitor and maintain a safe and reliable automation, monitoring and data collection systems;
Analyzeand resolve system hardware and software problems involving station instrumentation, I/Os and power supply modules and network communications;
Revise existing ladder logics, systems configurations, and procedures to correct deficiencies, and conduct appropriate software and/or hardware tests after revisions to insure the correct operation of revised systems;
Assist with development of short term and long term plans for real-time operating systems and security access control and monitoring system upgrades;
Maintain and review data and reports as required by policy and regulatory requirements for cybersecurity compliance related matters;
Work with and coordinate vendors as needed;
Skills you will need:
Must have:
Bachelor's Degree in Control, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or any equivalent degree E&I
8+ years' of related experience in controls, Automation and Instrumentation engineering.
Hands-on experience with PLC selection and programming
Hands-on with various process and analytical Instruments selection
Should have:
Experience with the design, implementation, and/or maintenance of instrumentation, control and automation systems in industries like power, Oil and gas .
Working knowledge of the following software is desired:
Matlab
Siemen TIA portal, Win CC
Strong problem-solving skills including knowledge of system and software debugging methods to minimize troubleshooting time to return plant control systems to full service when problems occur;
Strong sense of initiative and independence with strong analytical skills;
Demonstrated skills in the areas of planning, organizing, and project management;
A Renewable Engineer in a Green Hydrogen company should have a deep-seated passion for sustainable energy and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
Hazop study experience
Nice to have:
Sound knowledge/experience in the areas of electrical power distribution, power electronics and special expertise in DC-technology with double-digit kA currents is desirable
Should be conversant with ISA / UL / IEEE / IEC and IS Standards.
Should be conversant with Hazardous area classifications and equipment classifications as per IEC / IEEE.
