About The Role
The Senior Business Analyst will support the Manager of Asset Lifecycle Planning by providing high-quality business analysis services aimed at improving and modernising infrastructure asset planning practices. This role involves developing and overseeing the Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) framework, supporting strategic investment planning, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate with key stakeholders to facilitate business case development and manage the change impacts between current and future states.
Key accountabilities include:
- Develop and maintain the Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) framework and supporting processes.
- Facilitate workshops and document outcomes to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide business analysis services to identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Monitor initiative progress, resolve issues, and recommend actions to mitigate risks.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information to support decision-making.
- Ensure stakeholder engagement in the development of asset management processes.
- Support the development and implementation of asset management and performance improvement initiatives.
- Lead and mentor business analyst resources within the Asset Lifecycle Planning team.
- Implement and maintain conformance with the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework.
- Develop process maps and identify cost-effective solutions to promote digital enhancements.

- Substantial experience as a Business Analyst at senior level.
- Proven ability to lead business analyst resources and develop business cases.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, PowerApps).
- Excellent business analysis skills applicable to both waterfall and agile projects.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate effectively.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
Highly regarded
- Tertiary qualification in business, finance, engineering, or IT.
- Experience in Asset Management or similar roles.
- Familiarity with change management methodology such as PROSCI.

The remuneration for this role starts at $142,400 TRP (inclusive of superannuation) and is competitive, reflecting the candidate’s skills and experience.
