Job Title: PR Senior Account Executive


Location: Ipswich, Suffolk (3 days per week in the office, 2 days flexible)

PLMR is looking for a talented PR Senior Account Executive to join our East of England team, PLMR Genesis, based in our office in the heart of Ipswich.


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an award winning communications firm and work with some of the region’s most well-known brands.


The successful candidate will deliver impactful media relations, event management and social media campaigns to clients across the region, working in the professional services, energy, education and healthcare sectors. You will also have the opportunity to work on national accounts and campaigns across our different practice areas.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:


Delivering a diverse and exciting programme across public relations, media relations, corporate communications, reputation management, event management and social media for PLMR’s East of England client base


Establishing and building strong relationships with clients, key stakeholders and media contacts


Proactively monitoring developments in the media and assessing how this impacts existing clients


Drafting and distributing press releases, editorials and other client-ready communications which require minimal review from senior colleagues


Liaising with broadcast media and writing interview briefs for clients


Identifying target media, creating media lists and regularly updating them


Drafting and posting social media content across LinkedIn and X for clients and delivering a strategy to grow their reach and engagement


Attending client PR meetings and writing up meeting reports


Collating media coverage and producing impactful media coverage reports


Securing sponsorship for events, booking third party suppliers and ‘on the day management’ for clients

Assist in the development of new business proposals including generating creative and impactful campaign ideas


Proactively contribute to PLMR’s own marketing through regularly attending and networking at events in Ipswich and the region to engage with local businesses, drafting blog and social media content and issuing e-newsletters

Key Skills and Competencies:


2-3 years’ experience working in PR and media relations, either at an agency or an in-house role


To show clear aptitude for consultancy – you can work self-reliantly and as part of a team, be proactive, anticipate issues, generate creative ideas, write impactful content, create accurate client-ready documents, effectively manage your time across multiple clients/tasks and work to deadlines


A can-do attitude with strong communication and presentation skills


Experience in, or a willingness to learn, about issues in the professional services, energy, education and healthcare sectors


To show potential as a manager – you are well organised, a good communicator within a team, able to prioritise work according to urgency, can turn from task to task effectively, eager and approachable, and you can be relied upon to deliver tasks for review within given deadlines
