We are looking for an experienced SAP technology professional expert (SAP Basis Senior Engineer) who should have a proven track record in Administration in SAP systems operating in a High Available environment.

SAP Basis Engineer

Location: Zurich

• Work on SAP Basis activities for projects involving HANA migration and S/4HANA conversion
• Deploy, Configure and Manage Pacemaker based HA cluster for SAP and HANA ( VMWare/ BareMetal ) [e.g. choosing the watchdog driver, stonith , sap and hana resources and constraints, test cases etc ]
• Identify and resolve architectural and design issues in existing Pacemaker setup
• Troubleshoot complex Pacemaker software and Linux OS/ infrastructure issues
• Provide Day to Day operational support which includes handling tickets, planned activities, incidents ,customer meetings, Root Cause Analysis,
• Ensure the SLAs are met w.r.t tickets as well as planned activities like yearly BCO Tests (HA , DR , Backup Restore, HANA Patches, etc)
• Participate in Incident Management, troubleshoot service requests, resolve downtime extensions
• Accountable for ensuring round-the-clock availability of SAP systems using High Availabiity Solutions
• Implement automation solutions to streamline platform operations, enhancing efficiency and reliability
• Develop and implement Backup/Recovery, DR and High Availability strategies for SAP workload
• Good understanding of IT security, OS hardening
• Manage multiple tasks, work in a team environment, understand and be responsive to project and customer needs.
• Ensuring Day to Day quality service delivery and defining, tracking, and achieving various ambitious service KPI and SLA's
• Quick responses during escalations, take proactive steps to avoid escalations, identifying and driving initiatives to improve the operation and stability for our customer system and Driving initiatives to standardize and simplify operations.
• Ability to create good documentation
• To take the On Call / On Duty / Weekend task based on shift schedule.

What you'll bring

• Experience in Technical Operations as a SAP Basis Engineer in SAP ABAP based environments on HANA

• Hands-on experience in SAP System Administration, System Performance Management, Lifecycle events (Upgrades / Updates/Migration), Support, Escalation Management

• Hands On experience with designing , configuring and operating RedHAT / Linux pacemaker based clusters to protect HANA and SAP applications

• Hands On experience with using pacemaker cluster to reduce downtime for planned maintenance activities (i.e failing over resources, re-integrating the resources back into cluster after maintenance etc)

• Practical knowledge with SAP technologies like SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA (especially in a VMWare / Baremetal based environment)

• Experience with Managed/Hosting services model

• Experience in Service Management like Service request, Incident Management

• Experience in Problem Management, Root cause analysis methodologies

• Ability to work in high pressure environments to meet customer project timelines as and when applicable

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technologies Management.

• Professional Certification of SAP BASIS / Linux Pacemaker or related technologies
