We seek a highly experienced and strategic Offshore SAP BASIS Architect, to lead and oversee the implementation and optimization of RISE with SAP S/4HANA solutions for our clients who are into downstream oil and gas operations.

This role seeks an experienced RISE with SAP S/4HANA BASIS consultant, proficient in cloud technologies, system architecture, transformation (Greenfield) and migration strategies (Brownfield, Bluefield/Shell Conversion), to drive seamless cloud transitions and optimize SAP systems.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in managing and optimizing RISE with SAP S/4HANA environments, with a strong focus on hyperscale system infrastructure, security, performance, and continuous improvement to ensure optimal performance and stability across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities: Solution Architecture and Design:

• Lead the installation, configuration, and upgrades of SAP systems, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite and associated Applications.
• Design and maintain SAP landscapes across development, quality, and production systems, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Hands on experience in Digital Discovery and SAP Partner Cloud Architect certification is added advantage for this role.
• Manage end-to-end S/4HANA upgrades, including system conversions, patching, and leveraging tools such as SUM (Software Update Manager). Must have experience in managing OS and DB Kernels.
• Hands-on experience in installation and set-up of SAP S/4HANA Fully Activated Appliance, SAP Fiori Front End Server, SAP NetWeaver Gateway, SAP Web Dispatcher and SAP Router.
• Perform advanced performance tuning, including memory and database management, as well as optimizing application servers and SAP HANA databases.
• Hands-on experience in HANA Studio and/or HANA Cockpit.
• Configure user roles, profiles, and authorizations to meet security best practices and compliance requirements, ensuring secure access to SAP systems.
• Transport Management: Oversee the configuration and management of the SAP Transport Management System (TMS) for seamless movement of objects across systems, ensuring proper flow and control.
• Ability to setup/configure SAP Notes Backbone. Detailed understanding of SAP Support Portal (https://me.sap.com) for overall management of end-to-end SAP Landscape for a customer.
• Ability to run SAP Quick Sizer, real user to FUE computations etc.,
• Hands-on experience in SAP Cloud ALM is a must for the ongoing projects. But, SAP Solution Manager experience also considered.
• Implement robust backup and recovery strategies for SAP HANA and other databases, ensuring data integrity, system uptime, and business continuity.
• Manage SAP S/4HANA systems integration with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and execute cloud migration strategies, ensuring smooth data flow and system security.
• Ability to relate Hyperscale- Scale Up and Scale Out requirements. Handson on experience on either SUSE or Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating System.

Implementation Leadership:

• Lead SAP BASIS teams, providing mentorship and managing projects, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal resource allocation, while engaging with stakeholders for system requirements and best practices.
• Guide the full lifecycle implementation of SAP S/4HANA (Greenfield, Brownfield, Bluefield/Shell Conversion), leveraging SAP Cloud ALM (for SAP Activate Methodology), including Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run.
• Oversee data migration strategies and integration with third-party systems, ensuring seamless functionality and data integrity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and functional teams, providing hands-on leadership and mentorship.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize SAP S/4HANA initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops and design sessions to understand business needs and recommend solutions.
• Present architecture proposals and project updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Performance Optimization:

• Lead efforts for continuous process improvements, identifying and implementing system enhancements within SAP S/4HANA BASIS, leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive efficiency and reduce errors.
• Provide technical leadership for performance tuning, system upgrades, and scalability enhancements.

Governance and Compliance:

• Ensure all solutions adhere to organizational IT standards, industry regulations, and SAP best practices.
• Establish and enforce governance policies for SAP S/4HANA usage and customization.
• Understanding of SAP Cloud Application Lifecycle Management is a plus

Qualifications and Skills: Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15+ years of SAP experience, with 5+ years in a principal role.
• Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA implementations, specifically in downstream oil and gas industries.

Technical Expertise:

• Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA BASIS, and its integrations with other applications SAP BTP-Integration Suite, SAP Analytics Cloud, modules like MM, SD, FI/CO, PM, IS-Oil, SAC, SAP CX (Commerce Cloud, CPQ, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud), .
• Implement and optimize SAP Fiori applications for end-users to enhance user experience, making the business processes more efficient and mobile-friendly for procurement, sales, finance, and customer service teams.
• Knowledge of integration tools (e.g., SAP Integration Suite, SAP PI/PO, APIs) and data migration frameworks.

Leadership and Communication:

• Collaborate with other value streams such as finance, supply chain, and IT to ensure the BASIS activities that aligns with organizational goals, address bottlenecks, and resolve system or process issues.
• Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex project environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a consultative mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP certifications (e.g., BASIS, RISE SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition: Partner Cloud Architect, SAP Activate).
• Experience with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
• Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives in the industry sectors such as Oil and Gas sector, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing etc.,
