Responsibilities This role is centered on product strategy, Agile development leadership, and deep technical knowledge of the Salesforce platform. This role also acts as the bridge between the SBIR/STTR program's operational needs and the technical development team, requiring an understanding of the program's lifecycle to effectively guide the platform's evolution. Expertise in Salesforce integrations and user experience design is critical. The primary driver of value is the combination of product management acumen and Salesforce proficiency. Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: Product Lead • Product Vision & Strategy: Support the definition, ownership, and communication of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Salesforce-based SBIR/STTR Execution Platform, ensuring alignment with program goals, user needs, and DoD requirements. • Proven ability to articulate the product vision, present roadmaps, negotiate priorities, and provide status updates to various audiences, from technical teams to senior leadership. • Backlog Management & Prioritization: Collaborate with the Salesforce team to develop, manage, and prioritize the 1:N product backlog, translate business and program needs into actionable user stories and features based on value, feasibility, and stakeholder input. • Agile Development Oversight: Provide consultative-type support to the Salesforce project lead on how to effectively communicate to leadership timely delivery of high-quality solutions. • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (SBIR/STTR program managers, users, leadership) and the technical development team, ensuring clear communication, managing expectations, and gathering feedback. • User Experience & Adoption: Champion user needs, optimize the user experience, and drive platform adoption through training support and continuous improvement. • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and usage metrics to measure product success, report on progress to leadership, and inform data-driven decisions for future development. • Compliance and Reporting: Support compliance with SBIR/STTR program regulations and policies by facilitating the collection and aggregation of data needed for mandatory reporting, both for individual awardees submitting progress reports and for the program office reporting on overall program performance and outcomes to external stakeholders (example Small Business Administration (SBA) and Congress). • Development of training materials, knowledgebase and end-user training to increase adoption and understanding of Salesforce' capabilities • Develop centralized change management strategy that seamlessly integrates with AFWERX existing processes • AFWERX Salesforce environment consists of asset management, case management, SBIR/STTR management and Spark Refinery (CRM tool) • Development of sprints, plans and IT roadmaps • Take program level requirements and feed into higher level strategy and direction Qualifications Preferred/Desired Experience: Journeyman: 5-10 years related experience • Experience in the product/program management role with the Salesforce platform, particularly Salesforce experience cloud and front door applications, case management and CRM • Product Management and Agile methodologies knowledge • Business analysis skills • Technical acumen • Communication and leadership skills (verbal and written) • User-centric design approach • Workflow automation expertise • Data management and integration experience • Change management experience • SBIR/STTR Program familiarity Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or higher Certification Requirements: • None Clearance Requirements: • Active SECRET clearance. • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. ADDITIONAL NOTES: • Applicants should plan on in-person work, but some remote work may be possible based on customer requirements, project needs and travel. • Occasional travel may be required to government and industry locations. The pay range for this position in California is $125,000/year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location. The pay range for this position in Colorado is $125,000/year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
