The Role:

This role sits at the heart of our client's marketing technology capabilities. You’ll be part of an agile team supporting global clients, building scalable, data-driven solutions across platforms. While you’ll be working within the Salesforce ecosystem, the focus is largely backend—connecting data systems, optimizing journeys, and building robust, personalized campaigns with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) tools.


What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to agile ceremonies, collaborate across disciplines, and take ownership of tasks from a Jira backlog
  • Write advanced SQL queries and SF queries to manipulate and retrieve large volumes of marketing data
  • Configure backend data flows and integrate platforms across a complex, multi-cloud ecosystem
  • Support the setup and optimization of journeys, triggers, and automations within SFMC
  • Utilize SSJS and AMPscript for scripting and dynamic personalization in email campaigns
  • Build and manage API integrations (REST/SOAP), often using Mulesoft or similar middleware
  • Work closely with CRM and engineering teams to ensure seamless SFMC <> Salesforce CRM integrations (Sales, Service, CPQ)
  • Manage opt-in/opt-out logic via MobileConnect and sync with third-party systems
  • Stay ahead of marketing technology trends, bringing fresh thinking to how we use tools to connect with customers
  • Maintain documentation and contribute to team knowledge via Jira and Confluence


What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SFMC, with a strong focus on backend and data engineering
  • Deep understanding of SQL, data modeling, and large-scale marketing data structures
  • Strong scripting abilities with SSJS and intermediate experience with AMPscript
  • Experience integrating complex systems via APIs (REST/SOAP); Mulesoft experience is a big plus
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM products (Sales, Service, CPQ) and their connection to SFMC
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and comfort working in fast-moving, cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset—comfortable bridging creative and technical worlds
  • A passion for Martech, CRM strategy, and delivering unforgettable customer experiences through data


Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in a creative or marketing agency environment
  • Knowledge of MobileConnect and mobile messaging best practices
  • Understanding of customer data platforms (CDPs), DMPs, or analytics tools
