The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a qualified Sales Account Manager based in the South Austin to North San Antonio corridor. This territory will specifically cover the southern portions of Austin and the northern San Antonio metropolitan area. The successful candidate comes to us with a proven track record in B2B sales to new and existing customers, with a focus on calling on general contractors and the construction industry. This is truly a hunter role!

The Role

The Sales Account Manager develops a sales strategy and customer account portfolio with the goal of increasing market share and sales volume of our products with new customers.

The successful candidate will maximize revenue and profits while providing excellent account management/development to the existing customer base and in line with our company's strategic objectives within the designated territory.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements a strategy to achieve sales revenue growth and market share targets within designated territory
  • Conducts sales meetings booked by the internal Inside Sales team and fully explores customers' needs/requirements
  • Demonstrates the most relevant products and services that will support each customer's needs
  • Researches potential customers using various direct methods such as cold calling and indirect methods such as networking and lead follow-up
  • Identifies, qualifies and assesses customers' needs to determine suitable products and services
  • Utilizes the company's CRM system to prepare quotes, maintain pipeline development, track business development activities, and record contact information
  • Works closely with the internal Sales support team in scheduling and conducting sales presentations with customers
  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with established customers through close management of accounts and attention to their needs
  • Performs in-depth and informative reporting on activities for review by internal Sales management
  • Provides regular updates on market conditions and competitor activity, including upcoming threats/opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline or equivalent along with 3 to 5 years of previous direct B2B sales experience
  • Prior experience selling or providing rental equipment to general contractors and the construction industry is highly preferred
  • Previous experience selling to end users through a consultative sales approach is required
  • Previous experience using CRM such as Salesforce required
  • An excellent communicator who can build, develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers and internal staff with ease
  • A proven ability to identify sales opportunities and leverage internal & external resources appropriately
  • Strong qualification skills and closing skills are a must to be successful in this role along with a proven ability in achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent organization, time management, high attention to detail and planning skills are a must
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare complete and accurate quotes and proposals as well as sales orders is required
  • Ability to drive throughout the South Austin to North San Antonio corridor for sales calls and site surveys
  • May be required to travel outside of area for tradeshows, sales calls and other events
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the US

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary of $60,000 to $70,000 per year depending upon experience
  • Up to $50,000 bonus/commission per year for total on-target earnings of up to $120,000
  • 10 days paid vacation (increases with length of service) + 7 public holidays
