Salary: $95,000 to $100,000
Schedule: Full Time, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday- Friday (on call availability)

Blakehurst is looking for an experienced, hospitality focused Unit Manager that brings compassion, professionalism, and strong skills to work every day. The Unit Manager is an RN who is responsible for the overall supervision of nursing care in the Health Center.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Supervises direct nursing care in the Health Center.
* Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
* Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
* Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.
* Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans and conference in the absence of the MDS nurse.
* Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
* Assists with orientation of nursing personnel.
* Participates in family/resident counseling.
* Responds to emergency calls as necessary.
* Functions in the capacity of DON in his/her absence.
* Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care.
* Assures timeliness of physician visits.
* Accompanies physicians when making rounds.
* Notifies physician and family of changes in resident's condition.
* Encourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents= independence.
* Assures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies.
* Assists DON in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
* Assists in infection control, safety and pharmacy rounds and audits.
* Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
* Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
* RN currently licensed in the state of Maryland.
* Current CPR certification.
* Geriatric/rehabilitation experience with a good understanding of restorative nursing.
* Supervisory experience preferred.
