Hazen is seeking a Construction Inspector for water and sewer utilities projects located in Charlotte, NC, and surrounding region. This position will work with owners, contractors, third-party firms, and Hazen engineers to support the construction and commissioning of Hazen projects.

Job Duties

• Conduct on-site observation, monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of construction activities.
• Review and interpret project specifications and drawings to verify contractor compliance therewith.
• Review contractor performance and compliance with safety requirements.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with multi-discipline teams, consultants, owners, contractors, and third-party inspection/testing firms.
• Prepare daily reports, verify material quantities, and review contractor pay applications.
• Maintain construction related documentation.
• Travel to various project sites within 2-hour drive of the Charlotte metro area.
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant field construction experience, preferably in the water/wastewater/utility industry.
• B.S. degree in a Civil/Environmental Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Building/Construction Science, or an Associate Degree in Engineering Science is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Office, Procore, Primavera, etc.).
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with construction methods typical of civil, structural, and mechanical engineering, and construction materials testing.
• Capable of reviewing and implementing project design plans and technical specifications.
