We are launching a new business line –PayGo (Product Financing)– a flexible digital credit solution that empowers customers to own products and pay in instalments. As we scale this offering, we are looking for high-performingRegional Business Managersto drive adoption across Nigeria.
Job Objective
To lead regional growth, acquisition, and operational excellence for PalmPay's PayGo business by managing field teams, merchant engagement, customer onboarding, and strategic partnerships within the region.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Leadership:Own the PayGo business performance in your region. Drive merchant acquisition, product uptake, and customer activation strategies
Team Management:Recruit, train, and manage a network of field sales agents, supervisors, and business development officers
Market Penetration:Identify high-potential markets and oversee the execution of go-to-market activities to expand PayGo’s footprint
Merchant Relationship Management:Build strong relationships with merchants (e.g. phone vendors, electronics retailers), ensure product knowledge, and support adoption
Sales & Revenue:Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs tied to merchant sign-ups, credit sales, repayments, and customer satisfaction
Operational Oversight:Ensure smooth operations of PayGo transactions, manage logistics for merchant supplies, and resolve escalations quickly
Reporting:Generate timely performance reports and share insights with leadership on market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback
Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure adherence to policies, and support due diligence and credit recovery efforts in collaboration with relevant teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, sales leadership, or regional operations, with at least2 years in similar PayGo/Product Financing industry (MUST HAVE)
Proven track record in hitting sales targets and managing large field teams
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Deep understanding of local market dynamics in the assigned zone/region
Strong entrepreneurial spirit and problem-solving mindset
Willingness to travel and work in the field extensively
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in consumer credit or pay-as-you-go models (THIS IS A MUST-HAVE)
Strong network of merchants or agents in electronics, mobile phones, or FMCG industries
Fluency in local dialects is a plus
