Main mission
Ensure that all activities within the HW Engineering team adhere to rigorous quality standards, established processes, and regulatory compliance requirements. This role will focus on continuous improvement initiatives, audit coordination, process documentation, and compliance monitoring to uphold the highest standards of quality and reliability in our hardware products.
Additionally, the role will ensure that integrated systems meet various certification requirements at country, regional, or global levels.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures for hardware engineering projects
- Conduct regular audits of engineering processes and products to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards
- Analyze and report on quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement
- Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action plans for identified quality issues
- Design and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for hardware engineering processes
- Lead process improvement initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team
- Conduct training sessions to ensure engineering team members master the quality and process standards
- Ensure hardware development and production processes comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Stay up-to-date with changes in compliance requirements and communicate these to the engineering team
- Develop and maintain a compliance matrix, mapping regulations to internal processes and controls
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies during audits and inspections, providing necessary documentation and support
- Research and understand various certification requirements relevant to the Integrated Systems at different country, regional, and global levels
- Develop and maintain a certification plan, ensuring all necessary certifications are obtained and maintained
- Collaborate with certification bodies and ensure all certification documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Monitor compliance with certification requirements and address any issues that arise
- Maintain comprehensive records of quality assurance activities, audits, corrective actions, and compliance-related documentation
- Prepare reports for management on quality performance and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of quality and compliance requirements throughout the product lifecycle
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field
Experience Level
Proven experience (7+ years) in a Quality, Process or Compliance Role within an engineering environment, particularly in industries such as aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or automotive.
Hands-on experience with hardware certification processes and regulatory compliance is a must
Competences:
- Technical / functional skills:
- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and certification processes
- in quality management software and tools
- Familiarity with certification processes and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, CE Marking, FCC, etc.) is critical
- Hands-on experience in conducting audits and managing compliance documentation. Being able to interact with regulatory bodies and prepare for inspections is essential
- Proven track record in driving continuous improvement initiatives within engineering teams. Experience with root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and process optimization
- Proficiency in creating process maps and models to visualize current and future state processes
- Ability to document processes clearly and comprehensively, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other necessary documentation to ensure consistency and compliance
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with process changes. Experience with risk management frameworks and tools (e.g., FMEA)
- Skills in setting key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor process performance and effectiveness. Experience with dashboards and reporting tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
