We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement/Purchase Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in Civil Engineering (Diploma or Degree) and substantial experience in real estate and construction procurement. This role demands strong vendor management, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry’s material procurement process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Procurement: Manage the procurement of various construction materials required for real estate projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Quotation Management: Obtain quotations from suppliers and manufacturers, and prepare comparative statements for evaluating different options.
  • Vendor Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Conduct negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure cost-effective and competitive pricing, while maintaining quality standards.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless procurement processes and material availability.
  • Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage a diverse pool of vendors, ensuring long-term partnerships and reliable supply chains.
  • Procurement Planning: Develop and maintain procurement plans, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time and in the required quantities.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock is maintained to avoid shortages or excesses that may impact project timelines.
  • Market Analysis: Keep a close eye on market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and ensure competitive pricing for materials.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all materials procured meet the specified quality standards and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, invoices, and contracts. Regularly report procurement status and cost savings to senior management.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work closely with logistics providers to address transportation issues or delays, ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites.
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve procurement-related challenges, including issues with suppliers, quality, delivery, or logistics.


Key Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing in the real estate and construction sectors.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and suppliers.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with vendors and suppliers for cost optimization.
  • Experience in vendor management and sourcing.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and external parties.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address procurement issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Understanding of market trends and how to leverage them for cost efficiency.
