Job Description

We are looking for a Property Accountant to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company. The activities listed here are not all-inclusive; rather, they indicate the types of activities normally performed by this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
  • Perform accounting month end closing process and reconciliation.
  • Prepare journal entries for accrued and/or prepaid expenses.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements for assigned residential and commercial properties.
  • Reconcile and update schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Review and post bank reconciliation and follow-up on all reconciling items.
  • Review and approve invoices in accounts payable workflow.
  • Prepare year-end tax workpaper schedules and reconciliations.
  • Prepare annual CAM and real estate tax billings for commercial properties.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation.
  • Assist onsite property staff with accounting issues and process in Yardi property management software.
  • Special Projects as assigned.

Qualifications (Ideal)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant degree, with 5+ years’ accounting experience in property management environment.
  • Solid knowledge of accrual accounting procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with property management software. Yardi Voyager preferred.
  • Moderate to advanced skills in Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
