Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Engineer with a strong background in SolidWorks to join our engineering team. This role is instrumental in the development of advanced automated systems and mechanical components, supporting industries that rely on precision, efficiency, and innovation. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and validate mechanical systems that enhance operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings of mechanical systems using SolidWorks.
  • Ensure all designs meet functionality, manufacturability, and quality requirements in accordance with project specifications.
  • Work closely with automation engineers to conceptualize and prototype new system components.
  • Ensure mechanical designs are aligned with project budgets, timelines, and performance goals.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and test procedures.
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
  • Conduct simulations, finite element analysis (FEA), and stress analysis to validate design performance.
  • Assist with prototype assembly, product testing, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with quality and functionality standards.
  • Evaluate existing equipment and systems to identify opportunities for automation, redesign, or process enhancements.
  • Recommend design modifications that improve efficiency, reduce costs, or enhance performance.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical design, preferably in an automation, robotics, or capital equipment environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (including 3D modeling, sheet metal, and surfacing).
  • Familiarity with GD&T, DFM/DFA principles, and finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
  • Working knowledge of automation systems, including sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and PLC integration.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or comparable 3D modeling platforms is beneficial.
