Your role
The LCEL Library is a central hub for European law research, providing extensive resources and support to scholars and practitioners. It offers access to a vast collection of legal texts, journals, and electronic resources, and is staffed by specialised librarians who assist with research and information needs. The library plays a crucial role in supporting the academic and research activities of the LCEL.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead the integration of the LCEL library catalogue into the collective catalogue of the Luxembourgish libraries (a-z.lu), managed by the National Library of Luxembourg (BnL). This project is crucial for ensuring the seamless migration of our library data and enhancing our library services.
As a Project Manager, the jobholder will:
Organize efficient project governance and mobilize resources to execute the project
Define and execute the roadmap to deliver project objectives
Monitor and provide transparency on project progress
Submit proposals and action plans to the sponsor for decision and raise alerts at the appropriate management level when issues arise
More precisely, the Project Manager will:
Conduct a thorough examination of the current LCEL library data set in Aleph
Collaborate with the BnL Bibnet.lu team to analyze data quality and prepare for migration to the Alma catalogue
Update bibliographic, holding and item data according to Bibnet.lu libraries network rules
Migrate LCEL bibliographic metadata to the Alma catalogue, ensuring records appear in the national search engine a-z.lu
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure a smooth migration process
Ensure compliance with mandatory requirements of the Bibnet.lu libraries network
Your profile
Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Library/Information/Documentation Science or equivalent by work experience
Several years of experience in an academic library, with 6+ years in a similar position being an advantage
Expertise in metadata formatting, bibliographic structuring, AACR, MARC21, and RDA
Proven skills in library automation system migration, especially from Aleph to Alma
Extensive experience in project management, with a proven track record of leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders
Proven ability to coordinate and complete programs on time, within budget and within scope
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in English. French, German, and/or Luxembourgish would be an asset
