Iris Project Solutions Ltd specialises in the design and construction of controlled environments in both industrial and academic facilities. The company provides full turn-key solutions for the creation of GMP and cleanroom facilities, laboratories, and specialist process systems for private and public sector clients.
Due to continued success, an experienced M&E Project Engineer is sought to join the project team based in Peterlee on a permanent basis. Candidates should have experience in working on large projects within a building services background.

Role and Responsibilities
· Involvement in projects from the enquiry stage through to final acceptance and documentation.
· Contribute to the design of systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and technical requirements. Typical system types may include:
o HVAC Systems
o Chilled and Low Temperature Hot Water Systems
o Domestic Hot and Cold-Water Systems
o Compressed Air Systems
o Electrical Small Power Systems
o Building Management Systems
· Attend client meetings as necessary to discuss specific requirements.
· Conduct site surveys as needed.
· Instruct, direct, manage, and allocate work to contractors, prioritising safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
· Ensure all technical information is readily available for the delivery of design and/or construction.
· Interpret and review drawings, specifications, and schedules for all activities, directing works accordingly and preparing final documentation (As Built Drawings, etc.).
· Identify and resolve non-conformances early within both the design and construction phases.
· Assist with the management of project deliverables and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal and client quality systems.
· Contribute to tender, design, and construction programs, including progress updates and reporting.
· Manage subcontractors, including tender specification, quotation, and health & safety documentation review and appraisal.
· Assist with the preparation of construction phase health and safety plans for projects where the company acts as the principal contractor under CDM regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
· Minimum HNC/D level qualification in Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
· At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
· Valid CSCS card.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Membership in a relevant professional institution (CIBSE/IMechE/IET) with Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
· Experience working within a multi-disciplinary projects team.
