What you will be doing
* Will focus primarily in performing all required accounting functions of the project in a timely and accurate manner.
* Use computer software systems including Job Costing Software Systems and General Ledger Accounting Software Systems for the preparation of reports, spreadsheets and other accounting analysis as required by management.
* Provide computer input and perform analytical review of reports generated.
* Accurately review weekly field and office payrolls, making proper federal, state and 401k deposits into respective accounts.
* Maintain all projects' operating, payroll, and money market accounts including deposits, disbursements, and balancing.
* Support teams locally as well as in certain other regions, including team members located internationally.
* Monitor daily cash balances in operating, payroll, and money market bank accounts to cover obligations and maximize interest earnings.
* Prepare monthly cash projection reports.
* On a quarterly basis complete federal and state payroll tax returns and necessary deposits to bank.
* Process and review all accounts payable and subcontractors' payments.
* Accrue, prepare, and remit appropriate sales taxes as necessary.
* Ensure accuracy and completeness of master data including resource information; project, activity, and resource codes; enterprise project structure; security profiles; licensing information; etc.
* Participate in the development of the work breakdown structure, interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments.
* Prepare monthly aged trial balances, job cost summary schedules, supporting schedules for month-end close.
* Perform year- end audit and 6-month review with company CPA firm.
* Interface with the Project Manager and Executives to accurately charge and code invoices to proper Job Cost and General Ledger.
What we are looking for
* 5+ years finance experience in the construction industry required.
* Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting required.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Verbal, written and presentation skills.
* Management skills required. Ability to delegate tasks appropriately and clearly communicate expectations with staff.
* General understanding of construction industry and project accounting.
* Understands state and local requirements concerning sales/use tax.
