Summary

We’re looking for a strong design and technical leader to take the reins on a high-profile, large-scale residential project. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives on the balance of design excellence and real-world execution, who knows how to push a project forward with hands-on leadership, and who’s ready to join a well respected award winning firm with a collaborative, values-driven studio.

As Project Architect, you’ll report directly to the Partner overseeing the project and work closely with a small team. You’ll take full ownership of your project from early design through to completion — collaborating with consultants, managing technical documentation, and taking joint responsibility for the financial performance of your project. You’ll lead by example, diving into the details, solving problems proactively, and building trust across the team and with the client.

You’re someone who has already led multi-unit residential or mixed-use projects and knows what it means to guide a complex building from schematic design to construction. You’re comfortable with responsibility and confident presenting your ideas, whether to a client, a consultant, or a room of architects. You bring deep technical knowledge, an eye for design, and the maturity to lead a team with both empathy and accountability.

This role is for someone who:

  • Brings 15+ years of architectural experience, including significant work on complex residential or mixed-use towers
  • Is deeply engaged in both design and technical execution
  • Leads teams with clarity, humility, and purpose
  • Has strong project management skills, including consultant coordination, scheduling, and client engagement
  • Enjoys mentoring junior staff and sharing knowledge
  • Has experience working on heritage buildings or in heritage contexts (a strong asset)
  • Is proficient in Revit, and happy to jump into the model when needed
  • Thrives in an environment where rigor, collaboration, and design excellence are non-negotiable

What you’ll do:

  • Own and lead projects through all phases—design, documentation, and construction
  • Work closely with principals and partners to define goals, manage schedules, and uphold our commitment to design quality
  • Coordinate with consultants, city officials, contractors, and clients
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of learning and collaboration
  • Champion technical excellence, sustainable design, and thoughtful details at every step

We offer a competitive base salary with discretionary profit-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. Paid holiday closure, along with summer hours and a hybrid work schedule (four days in-office). We also support your continued growth with a professional development budget, five paid PD days, and paid OAA dues and license renewals. Parental leave top-ups are available, and the office itself is designed for your comfort and convenience. You’ll be part of a collaborative, values-driven culture that believes great design and great workplaces go hand in hand

If you’re ready to step into a role where you can lead meaningful work, shape the city, and grow your career alongside thoughtful, experienced peers—we’d love to hear from you.
