POSITION SUMMARY: Program Manager Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, product launch, and Engineering Change Notice process and supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing for both in-house and outsourced products. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will support the Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing development cycle by acting as a coordinator between the customer, vendor, and Business Development, Quality, and Operations teams. The incumbent will set priorities and get projects completed on time and on budget. Report project status to Senior Management group Direct and manage all aspects of new programs through the effective application of AQP (Advance Quality Planning) Coordinate all applicable resources, ranging from raw materials to finished product qualification Manage customer expectations and timelines Lead process development sessions with vendors and customers to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profit for each project Support capital and tooling acquisition process – equipment / tooling specifications, capacity planning support Define process and approve fixture, tooling, and process designs Establish and coordinate purchase orders/shipping to meet customer demand during the product development process Support Document Management Coordinator with coordination of Engineering change notices with customers, vendors, and Purchasing Gather quotes from vendors as required Focus on vendor development and support Other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS 5 years of related experience in project management, project engineering, or new product development Knowledge of machining, casting, forging and/or welding and fabrication Preference will be given to candidates with previous CNC machining, welding, and fixture design related experience Strong negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point and Project) or equivalent Proficient in use of CAD and SolidWorks software Knowledge of Mastercam and MRP systems would be an asset Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and analyze difficult issues Able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Able to adjust schedule to communicate with CGL team in Canada as needed Able to perform both independently and with good judgment in a team environment Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 Demonstrated ability to perform both independently and with good judgment in a team environment Must have a valid driver’s licence and be able to travel to the US and China BENEFITS: Performance Reviews and Bonus Program: Annual reviews and bonuses based on company profitability, recognizing and rewarding your hard work.
