Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose
The Program Coordinator for the law school’s Kennedy Center, Capital Center, and the Eglet Center for Advocacy & Dispute Resolution reports to the Dean, serving as a central point of contact between students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external constituencies for each program. The Program Coordinator performs administrative and office support for the Dean as it relates to the three (3) programs and assists with meetings, events, and special projects.
Essential Functions
- Assist the Dean in managing the Kennedy Learning Center. This will include, but is not limited to:
- Supporting the management of day-to-day business operations for the Kennedy Center, including serving as the first point of contact for the Center.
- Serving as liaison to the forthcoming McGeorge Kennedy Learning Center Advisory Board.
- Researching and, in conjunction with the Dean and the Advancement Office, applying for grants to support Kennedy Learning Center programming.
- Coordinating travel arrangements both domestic and international, for business-related events and activities for the Kennedy Learning Center.
- Support the Capital Center by:
- Assisting the Capital Center Board, helping to ensure effective communication, planning, logistics, and achievement of the Board’s goals.
- Interfacing with Capital Center Concentration students to assess their inquiries, determine the proper course of action, and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage.
- Supporting the Capital Center Director regarding Capital Center programs and activities.
- Support the Eglet Center for Advocacy & Dispute Resolution by:
- Managing the competition registration process for competition teams.
- Serving as the liaison between the center directors and internal and external communities (from staff, faculty, students, and the University to executives of state and national importance) to execute tasks for the program.
- Provide overall support for each program in the following areas:
- Processing payments for vendor invoices and reimbursements for students.
- Handling logistics for events and activities, including reservations, catering services, technical support, meeting invitations, guest lists, meeting venues, transportation, assisting guest speakers, and other duties on and, occasionally, off campus.
- Collaborating with the law school’s marketing team to create marketing templates, schedule social media posts, and create posters and other marketing materials by submitting a Design Request Form.
- Managing the annual program calendars for each department.
- Helping manage departmental email accounts.
- Processing contracts and establish independent contractors for payment.
- Originating Electronic Personnel Action Forms for student employees.
- Support monthly faculty meetings by taking meeting minutes.
- Manage special projects and other related duties as assigned by the Dean.

Minimum Qualifications
- Forty-eight (48) units of completed post-high school education coursework. (Two (2) years of full-time experience in the same/similar position is equal to one (1) year of completed post-high school education coursework.)
- Three (3) years of related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Five (5) years of increasingly complex administrative experience.
- Knowledge of the legal profession and the legal employment market.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced English and composition skills, as well as the capacity to exercise diplomacy and deal effectively with a variety of situations in a calm precise way.
- Ability to multi-task, organize resources, and establish priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Ability to assess and apply pro-active problem solving.
- Assume responsibility and work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel

Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
Hiring Range $22.68 - $30.04 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Background Check Statement
