Summary

Position Title: Production Support Engineer


My name is Bill Stevens, and I have a new full time Production Support Engineer opportunity available in Parsippany, New Jersey that could be of interest to you, please review my specification below and I am available at any time to speak with you so please feel free to call me. The work schedule will be hybrid, three days a week in the office and two days remote in either of the firms office locations.


The Production Support Engineer performs a role as a “a hands-on” Technical Analyst amongst a team of support engineers/application developers. The position is responsible for monitoring the health of a portion of the firms applications, identifies opportunities to create greater resiliency for systems and batch processes and works on the intake, triage, remediation for production incidents. This position requires a motivated individual with a technical background and experience interfacing with development leads and business stakeholders.


Essential Functions

As the Engineer, Production Support, performs the triage and remediation on Tier 1 and Tier 2 production issues.

Works amongst a team that performs the intake, triage, remediation and communication of Tier 1 and Tier 2 production support for a portion for the firms applications.

Performs production monitoring, triage, code investigations and data updates.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Basic understanding of software architecture such as SOA and the software development cycle.

Programming experience with the noted languages and willingness to learn and apply new languages as needed Relational and non-relational database experience desired.

Release management discipline exposure

Knowledge of .NET, C#, MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS.

Database experience writing and debugging SQL, stored procedures, and triggers (Postgres, MySQL Candidate must have experience with technical design, development, testing, implementation, and support Experience with AWS (ALB, R53, EC2) Understanding of LAMP stack in a RedHat environment Source Control experience (Git) A wide range of technologies & platforms (i.e., AWS, .NET, C#, MS SQL, SSIS, SSRS) with a strong ability to diagnose issues.


Education/Degree Requirements/Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

Experience with production support processes including incident management, problem management, and release management, client facing application development experience.

Healthcare IT software development and HIPAA compliance experience highly preferred


Experience:

Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in application support or development.

Ability to work within an Agile team environment Communication, Change Management, Commitment to Customer Excellence, Collaborative Working, Problem Solving, Creative Thinking, Ability to identify trends and propose solutions to reduce production support demand.


Requirements:

Adhere to all Company Policies, Procedures, and other training consistent with firms Information Security and Compliance Programs, including but not limited to the following compliances and regulations: SOC1, SOC2, PCI, HIPAA Maintain strict compliance with company and client policies regarding business rules and ethics, as well as applicable local, state, and national federal laws
