Summary

Purpose of the Job: Interacts in quality circles to represent Body Shop and ensure common goals are achieved and overall quality targets achieved. Key Accountabilities: * Constantly achieve daily, weekly and monthly production target considering TPU and budget also * Ensure quality targets in Body Shop achieved. * Ensure problems are contained and not transferred to internal or external customers. * Ensure own department headcount and budget achieved. * Plan and execute succession planning and personnel development. * Drive continuous improvement in technical availability and UPH performance. * Ensure timeous execution of TPM and preventative maintenance to ensure high levels of technical availability. * Ensure robust technical problem solving. * Ensure safe working environment and adherence of his section to all safe working requirements and procedures. * Ensure continuous process improvement to optimize resource usage, improve plant condition and improve ergonomics. * Ensure high level of motivation amongst direct reports and associate in general. * Enable teams and associates to achieve the agreed targets. * Ensure cascading of information required to achieve targets. * Ensure proper work organization installed and maintained. * Adherence to all applicable standards and procedures. * Work in accordance with Collaboration management System principles. * Ensure quality targets are achieved both internally and externally including DPR, RMU, QZS, QZF, Geometry of BIW and HOP controlled and stable. * Ensure maintenance schedules are up to date and both TPM and preventative maintenance performed as per plan. * Achieve daily production volume plan and develop production system to consistently achieve 15.5 UPH. * Must achieve agreed budget and headcount target - must show a 5% year on year improvement. Non personnel cost such as consumables and scrap to be controlled within tight parameters and within budget. Overtime to be minimized and strictly managed. * Ensure TPU target for directs are achieved and constantly improved. Impact on innovations and changes: * Challenge supporting department to devise solutions to ever increasing targets. * Encourage intelligent use of systems and technology to cost effectively optimise business results. * Continually encourage skills transfer * Encourage use systems to improve productivity, quality and transparency i.e. Smart maintenance, PPZ and SAP. Education * Mech/Elec Eng. Degree * Equivalent Higher National Diploma * Extensive experience in a Body Shop environment * Experience in Management Work experience, Leadership experience * 5 Year in an Automotive Production Plant * At least 5 years leadership level such as Process Leader Additional skills: special skills / technical ability etc. * German proficiency would be an advantage * Ability to manage technically challenging situations without becoming emotional * Able to simplify complex topics and translate to lower organisational levels * Good communicator Knowledge regarding IMS and legal requirements: * OHS Act Legal liability * Environmental Management Standards * Health and Safety Site Standards * Incident investigation * Risk Assessment * ISO 9001 * ISO 14001 * OSHAS 18001 Production Engineer (Talent Pool) 20250508 Automotive Rosslyn South Africa Legal Entity: BMW (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd.
