Job Title: Payload System Verification and Validation Engineer
Job Description
As a Payload System Verification and Validation Engineer, you will define, analyze, and validate system and subsystem requirements for digital telecommunications payloads. You will develop and execute verification plans, including defining test strategies, writing test procedures, and analyzing results. In addition, you will lead or support system-level payload test campaigns at both the equipment and spacecraft levels, interfacing with payload hardware and software teams to ensure correct implementation and traceability of requirements.
Responsibilities
* Define, analyze, and validate system and subsystem requirements for digital telecommunications payloads.
* Develop and execute verification plans, including defining test strategies, writing test procedures, and analyzing results.
* Lead or support system-level payload test campaigns, both at equipment and spacecraft level.
* Interface with payload hardware and software teams to ensure correct implementation and traceability of requirements.
* Participate in technical reviews and support anomaly investigation and resolution.
* Work with multi-disciplinary teams including RF, digital, embedded software, FPGA, and systems engineering.
* Contribute to technology evolution by identifying opportunities for design optimization and innovation.
Essential Skills
* Experience with telecommunication systems and electrical engineering.
* Proficiency in digital payload architecture and verification testing.
* Familiarity with vector network analyzers (VNA), baseband signal generators, and channel emulators.
* Experience with interfaces for instrument control, including SCPI.
* Experience in requirements verification by test.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Experience with space or constellation operations.
* Proficiency in automated testing.
* Knowledge of requirement management tools such as DOORS, Windchill, and JAMA.
Work Environment
This position offers a remote work environment with the possibility of 10-20% international travel to Canada.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $105.00/hr.
