Responsibilities

  • The process engineer supervises and oversees:
  • The initial manufacturing (demonstrators, prototypes) with Product Engineering department,
  • The industrialization of new products to achieve the targets required by SKF Magnetic Mechatronics customers in terms of quality, costs and deadlines,
  • The continuous improvement for the production (Lean approach) of processes, tools and production means for existing products.
  • New Product Introduction:
    • Participate to the project risk analysis for manufacturing feedback.
    • Participate to the design review with Product Engineering department to consider the industrial constraints.
    • Strong leadership for the Design For Manufacturing (DFm) and Design For Test (DFt) of the product and validate the design solution (participate to DFMEA and pilot the PFMEA).
    • Build strategies around the manufacturing process: flow charts, make-or-buy studies, process validation plans, maturity process design, VSM diagrams, etc.).
    • Define the assembly time for sub assembly and product.
    • Participate in the design and the validation of the tools and jigs (with HSE and ergonomic constraints considered).
    • Pilot the design, the implementation, and qualification of the new production lines in the factory (equipment, test bench, etc.).
    • Build the technical specification and investment request document for new equipment.
    • Build and enhance the process engineering toolkit (BOM, process flow, control sheet, process specifications, work instructions)
    • Analyse, Identify and pilot the actions plan for the ramp-up of the production (capacity, productivity, skillsets).
  • Continuous improvement and manufacturing support:
    • Identify improvement actions, identifying the associated ROI and budget.
    • Improve the processes, tools and production means on existing products, to improve safety, increase capacity and productivity. Find the best solution, evaluate and validate changes to deliver to the production team.
    • Working with the teams on the SKF Production System toolbox, mainly on Stability tools (5S, preventive maintenance plan) and Flow tools (lean layout)
    • Create production documentation (process flows, work instructions, maintenance guides, calibration processes, etc.).
    • Pilot the lean workshop in term of facilitator and follow the action plan.
    • Participate to the standardization of our processes, design and tools.
    • Participate to the optimization of the manufacturing documentation
    • Participate to the escalation system by participating to Daily Meetings where manufacturing teams raise deviations they cannot solve by themselves; support the manufacturing teams by taking charge of actions related to processes, tools and production means
Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineer with electromechanics / mechatronics skills, you have at minimum 3-5 years of experience in the low volume production, with good knowledge on:
  • Mechanics (assembly processes, machining processes, ISO measurements, tool design, etc.)
  • Materials (over molding resin, glue, etc.)
  • Construction of industrial file and management of BOM / ERP range
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, TOC or other lean tools:
  • 5S, Daily Management, Manufacturing Layout …
  • Problem solving tools (8D, DMAIC, PDCA ...)
  • Multi Flow approach (Material, People, Process, Equipment, Finish Goods, Information, Engineering)
  • Handling Material Flow (Picking, KANBAN, …)
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Tool design (2D/3D study) and follow the realization by suppliers
  • Experience with 3D modeling and manufacturing drawings
  • Ergonomic and safety rules, standard skills
  • Manufacturing knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft office tools especially Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Able to be flexible and multitask
  • Excellent team participation skills and ability to work with people from diversified backgrounds
  • Organized and Self-disciplined
