Due to ongoing business growth and increased focus on our client’s Colour Management Program, we are looking for a Print Quality Manager to join our passionate team.


Working closely with our food packaging client, suppliers and printers, this role ensures our print output consistently meets the highest quality standards. You'll oversee the entire Print Quality Management (PQM) process and provide vital technical input across the production lifecycle.


What You'll Be Doing


Print Quality Management (PQM)

  • Monitor the receipt and tracking of printed packaging samples.
  • Conduct print quality assessments using our pre-defined reporting criteria.
  • Generate detailed reports at SKU, campaign, and printer levels.
  • Maintain and analyse a comprehensive database to assess supplier performance.
  • Manage the archiving process of print samples.


Press Passing & On-Site Support

  • Support the Print Technical Manager during press passes.
  • Advise print partners to achieve optimal results.
  • Produce print quality reports from press visits (includes travel across Australia and occasionally internationally).


Print Specification & Colour Management

  • Maintain printer spec databases.


Use GMG proofing software and X-Rite hardware to:

  • Build profiles and manage spot colour databases.
  • Evaluate colours spectrally and create design trials for proofing.


Creative & Production Collaboration

  • Evaluate creative designs for technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with printers on file setup for print separations.
  • Lead pre-artwork production meetings.
  • Provide technical guidance to on-site Account Managers.


What We’re Looking For


Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in packaging print or pre-press technical roles.
  • Strong knowledge of all packaging print processes.
  • Ability to assess print feasibility at concept stage.
  • Solid understanding of pre-press and repro processes.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in press passing.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Highly organised, calm under pressure, and a team player.


Desirable Attributes

  • Good Client-facing and project management experience.
  • Understanding of colour management, press fingerprinting, and profiling.
