Principal / Director level Software Engineer - Java

Tekfinder have a range of new director level, PE roles for engineers with experience working on complex Java, data driven systems.

Were looking for very senior engineers who have led other developers either as an engineer, director of eng, CTO or similar.

This is the perfect role if you're a seasoned tech leader, but want to be hands on and not manager anyone.

Principals in this business aim to set the team up for success so every code release thereafter, goes faster.

We are specifically looking for engineers who;

• Have strong software design & design pattern skills
• understand good software practices + patterns
• Grow others and work beyond their problem space
• Think about problems and bring people along, on the journey
• Have capacity for slow, subtle influence to drive long-term change
• Make slow subtle differences but are commercially minded
• Understand a codebase quickly and help senior engineers with design patterns & microservices
• Are expected to drive system design, swap out legacy components and deliver solutions independently or in small, highly skilled teams.

Your role could loosely be;

• 20% coding/code review
• 40% system design
• 40% influence and leadership

Stack; Java is everywhere so you’ll need to know it. However we’ve hired PEs who have backgrounds in Rust, Go, Python and C++.

The business look for problem solvers, rather than focus on code.

Salary; ranges from $250k-$280k base + super + bonus
