About The Role

The Principal Product Engineer will be instrumental in driving data analysis to identify opportunities for yield improvement and DPPM reduction for our products, with a particular focus on Automated Test Equipment (ATE). This role requires a detail-oriented engineer who can quickly identify root causes and implement corrective actions to enhance product performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, semiconductor testing, and semiconductor fab & assembly processes, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

What you’ll achieve: 

  • Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive statistical data analysis on product performance to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for yield improvement.
  • Process Excursion Management: Monitor and analyze process excursions, working swiftly to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to minimize impact on production.
  • ATE Focus: Specialize in optimizing Automated Test Equipment processes to ensure accurate and efficient testing of semiconductor products.
  • Yield Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve product yields, leveraging data insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with foundry, engineering, manufacturing, and quality & reliability teams to ensure alignment on product goals and improvement strategies.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex product issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to production.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of analysis findings, corrective & preventative actions, and improvement strategies, providing regular reports to management and stakeholders.
  • NPI Product Engineering: Drive NPI product engineering activities from product definition to manufacturing release
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in semiconductor testing and ATE technology, applying this knowledge to enhance product engineering processes.

About you: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product engineering, with a focus on data analysis and semiconductor testing.
  • Strong expertise in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) processes and optimization.
  • Familiarity with fab process, assembly, system-level testing, and failure analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret complex data sets and drive actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in semiconductor testing and yield improvement.

The full base pay range for this role is between $121,000 and $201,500, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $134,500 and $223,500. We offer an annual bonus program tied to internal company goals and annual meritocratic equity awards that enable our employees to participate in the success of the company.
