Summary

Position Summary:


As the Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will report directly to the Head of Cloud Platform and lead a small team of cloud infrastructure engineers. You will play a key role in establishing and maintaining a robust, scalable, and highly automated cloud infrastructure from the ground up. This position is integral to building our cloud-native capabilities with a strong emphasis on cost optimization, automation, developer enablement, and cloud-native cybersecurity practices.


Key Responsibilities:


Technical Leadership

  • Define and implement a cloud adoption framework to support business use cases in data science, AI/ML, and software development within the Palm Oil and Pulp & Paper industries.
  • Collaborate with the Digital & IT leaders in delivering business use cases under the governance of company cloud framework.
  • Provide technical insights and mentorship towards the fellow colleagues.

Cloud Infrastructure Development

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud platform following company cloud framework
  • Build and operate cloud infrastructure in cost-efficient and secure manner, following industry best practices
  • Build and promote a self-service model that empowers users to work efficiently, ensuring operational excellence and speed-to-market, while adhering to governance and security standards
  • Drive the implementation of observability frameworks, including monitoring and alerting systems, to ensure real-time visibility and proactive management of cloud environment health and performance.
  • Lead the implementation of FinOps practices to monitor and optimize cost usage across a multi-tenant cloud environment, ensuring financial efficiency and scalability.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud services to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup strategy, and incident response.
  • Lead cloud migration projects, including re-architecting and re-platforming legacy systems.


Skills & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the software industry, with proven hands-on expertise and leadership in cloud infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience managing production-grade cloud infrastructure with high availability and strict SLAs.
  • Deep proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS), with additional experience in Microsoft Azure being a strong plus.
  • Solid experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, especially Terraform, and other cloud-native tooling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a structured and logical approach to complex challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams effectively.
