Key Responsibilities

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert of client’s Global Infrastructure

Team in the areas of AWS, cloud-native networking, IaC tools, scripting languages and system

administration for RedHat Enterprise Linux. Your main responsibilities including performing monitoring along with operational and support work (patch, tuning, etc.) to ensure security, performance and availability of the corporate service delivery platform around the world to meet KPIs. This position will require you to participate in on call rotation to provide incident response where you will need to identify methods, solutions, and provide project leadership and management to provide a high level of service to internal users.

This Includes But Is Not Limited To

  • Design, develop and implement automation and orchestration to deliver Cloud-based platforms through infrastructure-as-code. Provide technical leadership in solution design and architecture discussions, in collaboration with developers and other Platform engineers.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the way we design, build and operate our platforms, including but not limited to areas such as AWS, cloud-native networking, IaC tools, scripting languages and system administration for RedHat Enterprise Linux.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring, administration, maintenance and tuning of systems in all environments (Production, Development, Testing/QA), to ensure the highest level of security and performance for client’s mission critical service delivery platforms, to meet capacity requirements and availability KPIs.
  • Resolve complex technical issues by performing troubleshooting, analyzing issues and formulating solutions as required, based on industry best practices. Participate in on call rotation for incident response. Where called upon, provide subject matter expertise for response, diagnosis and resolution during incident response.
  • Execute and ensure compliance with policies and procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse. Ensure timely application of revisions to systems and network components.
  • Where called upon, contribute to the development of policies, procedures and standards to be used by the organization when operating on the cloud.
  • Perform other tasks or activities as may be directed or assigned to you by the Infrastructure Manager from time to time.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or computer science, extensive Information Systems or Computer Science experience may also be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Red Hat Linux operating systems and virtualization technologies. RHEL certification would be a strong advantage.
  • Experienced in automation and programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash/Shell, or others.
  • Experienced in Infrastructure-as-Code. 1-3 years of experience in the use Terraform/ Jenkins / Ansible / Puppet / Bitbucket is required.
  • AWS certification preferred, Azure or GCP may also be also considered. At minimum, should possess practical knowledge of AWS foundation services related to compute, network, storage, administration and security, deployment and management, automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with using AWS Cloud Services (EC2, RDS, API Gateway, Lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, ELB, etc)
  • Proficient with relational databases (RDS, DB2, or PostgresSQL). Certification in administration of any database technologies would be a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of and the maintenance of security and compliance standards, with experience in vulnerability management and patch management. CISSP or equivalent security-related industry certification would be a strong advantage.
  • Experienced with monitoring, telemetry and logging tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Newrelic, Datadog, or other industry recognized monitoring / log management tools
  • Strong understanding of incident, problem and change management process within the ITSM context. ITIL certification would be a strong advantage.
  • Exceptional and proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and remediation
  • Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills within an international context
