Role Responsibilities
- Perform power analysis using industry-standard tools such as PPRTL, PowerArtist, PrimePower, or similar.
- Evaluate and optimize designs for power, performance, and area (PPA) trade-offs.
- Generate detailed power reports and collaborate with design and verification teams to address power hotspots or inefficiencies.
- Analyze power data to guide RTL improvements and architectural decisions.
- Work with multi-functional teams including design, physical implementation, and verification to meet project power goals.
- Support the integration of power modeling and simulation into the existing ASIC design flows.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Perl, and Shell for power analysis and reporting workflows.
- Review RTL code and provide feedback to improve power efficiency.
- Assist in methodology development and flow enhancements for scalable power analysis processes.
- Conduct power analysis and assessments for various electrical systems.
- Utilize simulation tools to design and validate power management solutions.
- Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to power systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power solutions effectively.
- Support project management by providing technical insights and progress reports.
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving related to electrical designs.
- Review and approve electrical design specifications and standards.
- Prepare presentations and reports to communicate analysis results.
- Work closely with customers to understand requirements and provide technical support.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in power technology.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety and performance standards in all projects.
- Assist in training junior engineers on power analysis techniques.
- Foster a positive working relationship with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electronics or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in power analysis or related roles.
- Proficiency in using EDA tools such as PowerArtist, PrimePower, or other equivalent power estimation and simulation platforms.
- Strong experience with Python, Perl, and Shell scripting to automate tasks and analyze large data sets.
- Exposure to RTL design and functional verification.
- Solid understanding of ASIC design flows and PPA optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with Place and Route (PnR) tools and low-power techniques is a strong plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interface with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Understanding of industry regulations and standards.
- Project management skills are an asset.
