Summary

Job Title: Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal

Location: Orlando, FL 32801

Salary/Payrate: $62K-$72K annually and AWESOME benefits!!!

Work Environment: Hybrid (1-2 days WFH AFTER INITIAL 90-DAY TRAINING PERIOD)

Term: Permanent / Fulltime

Bachelor’s degree required: No

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired



Job Description

Personal Injury Litigation Defense Paralegal. The supervising attorneys handle diverse, high-exposure personal injury personal injury defense matters. This position may support multiple attorneys within the practice group, as needed.



Duties And Responsibilities

  • Handle high volume caseload
  • Anticipate discovery issues and/or potential evidentiary issues to discuss with attorney or bring to their attention
  • Draft proposed discovery responses, non-party subpoenas
  • Identify and prepare proposed documents for production
  • Coordinate expert/attorney conferences and prepare expert packages
  • Gather client documents and interrogatory verification pages
  • Prepare proposed witness and exhibit lists
  • Prepare proposed exhibits and proposed objections



Qualifications

  • Drafting medical chronology and timelines
  • Successfully procuring non-party production
  • Florida Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Medical Terminology
  • Medical Billing
  • The basic elements of a Personal Injury Claim (liability and damages)
  • Identifying facts that would support or weaken client’s liability position
  • Identifying facts that would support or weaken the Plaintiff’s damage claim
  • Communicating and coordinating all aspects of expert retention and preparation
  • Communicating with outside vendors
  • Calendaring
  • Microsoft Outlook calendar management
  • WestLaw and Sunbiz



Education And Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience as a personal injury defense Paralegal preferred. Will not consider applicants with plaintiff experience only or with no civil litigation experience.
  • Must know Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Current knowledge of changes in laws and regulations relevant to personal injury defense.
  • In-depth knowledge of personal injury defense laws and procedures is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ATO (Client Profiles), Juris, Lexis, and Sunbiz a plus.
  • High school or equivalent (required).
  • Paralegal certificate (preferred).
