We are seeking passionate, detail-oriented Payroll Specialists to support the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program across New York. This role plays a vital part in helping individuals with long-term care needs live independently by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for their personal assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process full-cycle payroll with a focus on compliance, accuracy, and timeliness
• Manage post-payroll tasks including NOC reissues, reconciliations, and voids/reissues
• Handle court-ordered garnishments and related documentation with strict legal compliance
• Issue, void, and reissue manual cheques as needed
• Analyze large data sets to resolve payroll variances
• Use CRM tools and case management systems to process payroll-related inquiries
• Research and resolve uncashed or returned checks
• Support audits by preparing and submitting necessary documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally and work independently in a fast-paced virtual environment

Requirements:

• Must reside in the state of New York
• 1+ years experience in payroll, accounting, banking, or operations
• Strong working knowledge of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Concatenate)
• Familiarity with CRM or case management platforms
• Experience with garnishment processing (this is critical)
• NY-specific payroll experience accepted (multi-state not required)
• CDPAP/Medicaid payroll experience a plus, but not mandatory
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Ability to work remotely and independently with minimal supervision
• Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Location: This position is fully remote, work from home, but you must reside in NY.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

**This is a 3 month contract with a possibility of extending.**
