Description

We are offering a contract for a contract employment opportunity with potential of being permanent for a remote Payroll Accountant in San Francisco, California. This role is in the tech industry and involves working with multi-state payroll tax compliance. The candidate will join a collaborative payroll team and engage in daily interaction with team leads.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, track, and follow up on tax notices, focusing mainly on domestic with some international exposure.
• Assess the legitimacy and accuracy of tax notices, liaising with government agencies and ADP to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct cause analysis and reconciliations related to payroll taxes.
• Collaborate with ADP (Workforce Now and SmartCompliance) and internal teams to ensure resolutions are timely.
• Provide support to payroll processing as needed, covering regions including U.S., Canada, Mexico.
• Work cross-functionally with HRIS (Workday) and other stakeholders on payroll tax reporting and compliance.
• Cooperate closely with internal team members across U.S., Mexico, and APAC regions.
• Utilize Excel proficiency to manipulate and analyze data for audits and reconciliation.
• Apply your strong tax experience, especially in multi-state and U.S. domestic payroll tax compliance.
• Utilize your compliance knowledge to review notices, work with agencies, and resolve discrepancies.
• Operate various tools and systems such as ADP Workforce Now, ADP SmartCompliance, Workday HRIS, and Excel (Advanced).
  
  
  

Requirements

• Preferably 5+ years of payroll and tax compliance experience
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is desired
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now is advantageous
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions is required
