Summary

Aero-Optics Engineer for Modeling & Simulation Polaris Sensor Technologies is seeking an Aero-Optics Engineer to support development and validation of aero-optical models and simulation software. This position requires experience with optical analysis, including a solid understanding of physical and geometrical optics, Zemax, Matlab or Python modeling, and data analysis. Experience with aero-optics and wind tunnel testing is a plus. A successful applicant is self-motivated, able to work well in teams, eager to learn, and able to clearly communicate and document their work. This position is full-time (40 hours per week) in Huntsville, Alabama. Salary is commensurate with applicant’s qualifications and experience. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and must be able to obtain a security clearance upon demonstrated need. Responsibilities Analyze hypersonic wind tunnel test data Develop and validate aero-optical models Simulate optical effects for scene generation or flight predictions Develop comprehensive and detailed reports Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Physics, Optical Science, Mathematics, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical area 2 years minimum demonstrated experience in a related field Strong communication skills, both oral and written Disciplined approach to laboratory work with strong attention to detail Good organizational skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
