ICAP Executive Search & Selection, on behalf of its client, a dynamic and well-established shipping company based in Piraeus is seeking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of shore operations:

Operations Manager / Shipping (5669/OM/ESS/GR)

This position requires a versatile leader who can handle a diverse range of responsibilities including operations management, technical issues, purchasing, and crew management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspire and lead a team of professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shipping company, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
• Develop operational policies and procedures and introduce and integrate innovative systems and technologies to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvements as needed.
• Address and resolve technical issues related to ships, equipment, and logistics systems.
• Collaborate with engineering team to ensure the reliability and safety of all company assets.
• Oversee the procurement of goods and services necessary for company operations, including shipping supplies, equipment, and provisions.
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of the crew and staff, ensuring that all crew members comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
• Contribute to the company's strategic planning and business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion within the shipping industry.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the shipping or maritime industry.
• Previous sea experience as a Captain A’ will be considered as an asset.
• Strong understanding of dry operations and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
• Hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved in day-to-day operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Innovative mindset with a track record of implementing new systems and technologies.
• Fluency in Greek and English is essential
