Position Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading janitorial operations across 20+ client sites in the Oakland/ Eastbay area. This role ensures operational excellence, team leadership, client satisfaction, and compliance with union regulations and local collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). The ideal candidate brings strong labor relations experience, regional oversight capabilities, and a proven track record in managing high-performance teams in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
Essential Functions
- Oversee daily janitorial operations across 20+ Bay Area client accounts, ensuring service quality, contract compliance, and customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams; build internal talent pipelines and foster a positive, growth-oriented work environment.
- Manage union relationships and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and all applicable labor regulations.
- Maintain strong client partnerships through regular site visits, issue resolution, and proactive communication.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, labor forecasts, and cost controls to achieve district financial goals.
- Ensure accountability for team performance, safety compliance, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to expand services or improve operational efficiency; support regional sales efforts as needed.
- Oversee administrative functions related to operations, including worker’s compensation claims and regulatory compliance.
- Lead district-level planning initiatives, execute special projects, and adapt to evolving client or organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5–7 years of leadership experience in a service-driven, multi-site environment.
- Prior experience working with unionized teams and navigating collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
- Demonstrated ability to manage large teams across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of California labor laws and relevant industry regulations.
- Skilled in budgeting, client communication, staff development, and problem-solving.
- Technically proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and operational reporting tools.
- Proven ability to prioritize, adapt, and thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment.
