1 | SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
As an Operations manager - Ecommerce, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the e-commerce operations process within the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including category managers, marketing, vendor management and IT, to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and efficiency of the operations across the platform. Your role will involve developing and implementing standardized procedures, leveraging technology solutions and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance catalog accuracy and accessibility.
2 | MAJOR DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:

· Own the end-to-end e-commerce operations strategy, with a strong focus on scalability, efficiency, and alignment with business goals.
· Lead operational planning, execution, and performance optimization across catalog management, SKU onboarding, product data integrity, and platform readiness.
· Build and manage high-performing teams by hiring, developing, and retaining top talent, while ensuring succession planning and competency development.
· Translate business objectives into measurable KPIs and operational roadmaps; monitor progress and implement corrective actions where needed to meet targets.
· Act as the primary liaison between operations, category management, marketing, tech, and product teams to drive seamless coordination and execution.
· Drive continuous process improvement through root cause analysis, automation, and strategic interventions, leveraging frameworks such as Lean.
· Oversee the standardization and documentation of operational processes, ensuring consistency, repeatability, and compliance across functions and teams.
· Evaluate and implement tech-enabled solutions and workflow management systems to improve catalog accuracy, reduce manual dependencies, and scale operational output.
· Ensure strong data governance practices around product and catalog data, including quality assurance, taxonomy structuring, and metadata enrichment.
· Lead platform readiness initiatives by ensuring timely ingestion, validation, and publication of product data in alignment with category launches or campaign timelines.
· Use operational dashboards and analytics tools to generate insights on efficiency, SLA adherence, and business impact; convert insights into actionable improvements.
· Manage vendor and partner relationships from an operations standpoint, ensuring deliverables are met within agreed-upon SLAs and cost parameters.
· Define and drive strategic projects such as automation pipelines, catalog transformation initiatives, or operational readiness for platform migrations.
· Facilitate leadership reporting through structured documentation of performance metrics, operational bottlenecks, cost savings, and team productivity.
· Ensure all operational processes are aligned with organizational compliance, audit readiness, and risk mitigation guidelines.
· Represent the operations function in leadership forums, business reviews, and strategic planning sessions, driving visibility and alignment.
· Lead, mentor, and coach a team of specialists and senior specialists by fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment that encourages continuous learning and growth.
3 | EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS (Must have/Good to have):
· Around 10+ years of experience having worked in or managed e-commerce operations is a must
· Handled a team of minimum 10+ team members is a must. People management experience is a must have
· Experience working in a fast-paced e-commerce, retail, or marketplace environment with a strong understanding of online operations is a must
· Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing e-commerce operations
· Prior involvement in cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and tight timelines
· Strong understanding of platform or marketplace ecosystems, including their and operational models
· Proficiency in using data analysis tools such as Excel (advanced), Google Sheets and BI dashboards for tracking and decision-making
· Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive operational alignment, and resolve inter-departmental friction
· Strong business acumen with the ability to translate operational metrics into business impact narratives for executive leadership
· Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions
· Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
· Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage deadlines
· Familiarity with PIM (Product Information Management) systems, building attributes and validations is good to have
