Brief Description

The Specialty Ropes Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the wire ropes division, ensuring that the inside sales team and inventory management processes are optimized for efficiency and profitability. This role requires a strong focus on safety, quality control, and customer satisfaction while driving the division's financial performance. The manager will also foster a collaborative work environment, maintain strong communication with leadership and shared services partners, and ensure all customer interactions exceed expectations.

Requirements

Sales Support:

  • Lead and manage the inside sales team, ensuring that sales processes are efficient and effective.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members to enhance performance.
  • Monitor sales metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve division goals.

Inventory Management

  • Work closely with coordinators to ensure inventory levels are accurately maintained and managed.
  • Implement strategies to optimize stock levels, reducing excess inventory while preventing shortages.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to forecast inventory needs based on sales trends and market demands.

Safety And Quality Control

  • Ensure that all safety and quality control processes are in place and rigorously followed by all team members.
  • Regularly review safety protocols and conduct training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure that all wire ropes meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Financial Management

  • Manage the profitability of the wire ropes division by closely monitoring operating profits, material margins, and asset management.
  • Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to improve division performance.
  • Work with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget adherence.

Customer Communication And Satisfaction

  • Ensure all customer communications exceed expectations by providing prompt, accurate, and professional responses.
  • Address customer concerns and issues with urgency and in a manner that fosters strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership And Work Environment

  • Create a cohesive and collaborative work environment for all team members.
  • Foster open communication, teamwork, and a positive work culture within the division.
  • Recognize and reward team members for their contributions to the division's success.

Collaboration With Leadership And Partners

  • Develop and maintain constant communication with Regional Management, the Lifting Leadership team, and all shared services partners.
  • Participate in regular meetings to align division goals with overall company objectives.
  • Work with shared services teams (e.g., HR, finance, operations) to ensure division needs are met and resources are allocated appropriately.

Summary

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred with a focus in Business Administration, Sales, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline; in the absence of a degree, directly related job experience serving in an industrial sales role, where several years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement

  • Extensive knowledge of business analytics

  • Strong experience set and sense of the market, competition, and products and services
  • Uses data to drive decision-making
  • Strategic thinking and planning
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
  • Experience in problem solving, technical capacity, project management and collaboration skills are strongly preferred
  • Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
